If you are heading to a swim meet in Atlanta, GA soon there are tons of local and chain restaurants available for your fueling purposes! Below are some of my favorite places to eat while competing in Atlanta.

Mother Earth Bowl

An incredible bowl filled with ancient grains, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, avocado, cucumber, broccoli pesto, charred onion, leafy greens, red pepper miso vinaigrette and hemp seed.

Flying Avocado Wrap

A wrap filled with smoked turkey, gouda, romaine lettuce, tomato, and avocado hummus.

You can also build your own bowl and wrap if you do not like any of the options on the menu.

Fresh To Order is a great place to eat that is fast and healthy. Here are some options from the menu to try.

Grilled Salmon Plate

Salmon with coconut curry sauce or black bean orange sauce, corn relish, Indian harvest rice and baby greens. You can make it a combination meal with ½ soup or ½ salad.

Fire Grilled Chicken Plate

A grilled chicken with cabernet reduction, mushroom cream sauce, or coconut curry sauce, Indian harvest rice and baby greens. You can make it a combination meal with ½ soup or ½ salad.

House Turkey Club Panini

Yard House is a great chain that you could go to for dinner after a finals session or even celebrate with a burger once the meet is over! Here are some things to try on the menu.

Cilantro Lime Chicken

Chicken with roasted corn, radish, baby tomato relish, stir-friend cauliflower rice, ed quinoa and cilantro.

Mediterranean Salmon

Salmon za’atar crusted, warm cauliflower rice, red quinoa tabbouleh, kale, baby tomatoes, and spicy tahini sauce.

Chicken Bowl

Chicken with stir-fried seasame brown rice, red quinoa, mushroom, snap peas, bok choy, carrots, red onion, baby broccoli, and red pepper flakes.

As always don’t forget about pre-meet and during meet fuel!

Bananas, oranges, honey stinger chews, superhero muffins, crackers, rice cake, HU crackers, handful of grapes, ½ Lara Bar, nuts, peanut butter and jelly, hydrate with water, electrolytes or Harmless Harvest Coconut Water.

Recovery food is very important post-race. Immediately after your last race of a session be sure to have a protein shake or bar with equal carbs and equal protein. Great options are Lara Protein, Primal Kitchen Protein Bar and RX Layers Bar.
